Hello and welcome to Ghi Reptiles!
My name is Matt Lerer and have been fascinated with reptiles for as long as I can remember. My real introduction to them on a larger scale was in 1989 when I began to search out wholesalers in South Florida in order to see what was available in the trade. I have been captivated by almost every herp imaginable and even to this day seeing new animals is just as exciting as it was years ago.
Over the years, I have had the great pleasure of breeding many species of reptiles including chameleons, iguanas, emerald tree boas, amazon tree boas, Central American boas, and ball pythons. My current main focus are the many different color and pattern mutations of ball pythons.
Ball pythons are an amazing snake to me. They have more pattern and color mutations than any other reptile that we know of. I was first introduced to the breeding side of ball pythons in 2005 when my friend Kevin McCurley gave me a female spider ball python. I knew that I liked the morph we know as a 'Bumblebee' so I had to get a male pastel to breed to her. Once I started there was no turning back and now I have a wonderful collection of ball pythons that I enjoy working with every day.
Please enjoy the site and check back often for updates! Here are some new shots of animals I have...
